As the beautiful contestant was named the new bachelorette for the upcoming season, Tran walked onto the stage wearing a purple dress with a plunging neckline looking as charming as fans knew her to be. She described her experience being the first Asian lead of the franchise as “honestly incredible”. She remarked that she felt honored to make history as the first Asian to grace this position.
She further stated that she always wanted to be seen as an Asian representation on TV while she grew up. She had felt that Asian representation was inadequate in the media. She observed that any Asian representation served only to fill a supporting role or to meet a stereotype. This made her unseen on the screen and she never felt like a main character.

She continued saying that she was going to lead her own love story from this point on. She expressed delight at being able to be the main character in her story. She was elated thinking about how many people she was going to inspire and how many lives she was going to change.
As she makes her grand entry into the new season, Tran shared that she’s looking for “cheeky banter” and “someone who’s going to be able to take it as much as they can dish it.”
