Following an anonymous YouTube channel that claimed the death of Justin Norris, his fans are baffled and want to know what happened to him.
Justin Norris is an Australian butterfly and individual medley swimmer who became famous after bagging the bronze medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia for the 200-meter butterfly. Though he made a poor start by kissing the final of the 400-meter individual medley, he managed to qualify for the 200-meter butterfly final and ended up securing the third position. After that, the 43-year-old won a bronze medal at the FINA World Championships in Japan for the 200-meter individual medley.
However, out of the blue, a YouTube channel shared a short clip claiming the Australian medleyswimmer is no more. As per the video, a shark scratched Norris while he was busy protecting his two children at Bondi Beach.
Is The Reel Claiming Justin Norris’ Death Based On A True Event?
In the reel, it was mentioned that the Australian swimmer had passed away from the injuries. However, the news lacked proper evidence to support the claim and it showed no clips or photographs. Also, such a piece of news was nowhere to be found. Plentiful platform users have commented that the news is fake as no official source has ever backed the alleged incident.
He is a member of Norris Nuts, a family YouTube channel, which he joined after retiring from swimming. Over the years, the group has garnered much popularity on the social media platforms.
In late 2023, the family of Norris made headlines for settling in Sydney after buying a six-bedroom luxury house in North Bondi. Reportedly, the family has spent a whopping $15.2 million on the oceanfront home.
Though the shift was only a small change for the family, it was well acclaimed by their 6.34 million subscribers on YouTube and 4.8 million followers on Instagram. Following the shift, the family has become an internet sensation and in addition to that, they have been engaging in several lucrative collaborations with brands like Nintendo, Cartoon Network, Lego, Mattel, Disney, and Woolworths.
The online successor of the Norris family began when the eldest daughter Sabre, now 18, came to the spotlight after being a pro-surfer at a very young age, leading to an appearance on the popular The Ellen Degeneres Show in 2016. Ever since they have been witnessing growth in every dimension of their lives.
The family’s daily revenue is estimated to be around $10,000 from YouTube ads and other social media platforms. The content of the videos includes eating food and the joy of embarking on various adventures around the family home.

According to the previous YouTube videos, the family initially had plans to move to the Gold Coast. Reportedly, they had even purchased the land and completed the construction of the Gold Coast property in 2022. However, the seven-bedroom, seven-bathroom house with in-built sun loungers was sold in late 2022 for $6.42 million. Later, they purchased and moved to the Bondi property and thereafter, the family became an online sensation.
Reports suggest that the Norris family also purchased a four-bedroom home in June 2020, and a three-bedroom property in February 2020, both in Meriwether.
The family stepped into real estate in 2015 by selling their Newcastle East terrace for $1,3 million to purchase a bigger property at the Junction.
