On March 15, Meghan Markle quietly opened an Instagram account for her new lifestyle brand, American Riveria Orchard. Reportedly, her venture will cover even more categories, among them skincare, fragrance, and skincare.
All About Duchess Meghan Markle’s New Brand
While Meghan has yet to disclose anything about the venture, an insider revealed that the venture would focus more on garden, home, and general lifestyle offerings. Following this, a trademark application has opened up about what to expect from the 42-year-old’s start-up business.
As per the foremost application filed earlier this year, American Riveria Orchard will sell kitchen items including napkin rings, table linens, cutlers, cookbooks, decanters, placemats napkins, and other home decor. Recently, it has been revealed that the to-be launch site will also offer plentiful healthy edible options including vegetable-based spreads, nut-based spreads, sesame-based spreads, garlic-based spreads, dairy-based spreads, fruit butter, nut butter, fruit preserves,m jellies, jams, marmalades, and edible oils and fats.
According to the latest trademark application filed on March 9, American Riveria will also engage in the sales of cosmetic products, stationery, wallpaper, yoga equipment, fragrances, and gardening gear. The list also includes non-medicated skincare products, salts for medical purposes, bath and shower gels, non-medicated hair preparations, bath soap, body lotions, body oils, scented oils, room fragrances, and even jewelry, among many other things. In addition to them, a variety of paper goods- including calendars, photo albums, party decorations, notes, and greeting cards. She has also added pet food, collars, beds, and bowls in the latest filing.
A source close to the Duchess told Omid Scobie last year, ahead of the issuance of his book ‘Endgame,’ that Markle’s brand would be more accessible than Goop, a luxury wellness platform by Gwyneth Paltrow.
Meghan has always been interested in fashion and beauty. On her old blog The Tig, the actress would frequently write about fashion, beauty, good food, and travel.
“Meghan is busy with creating something timeless and safe,” a friend of Meghan recently said in a statement adding that she is making something that would not be associated with being royal.
She shared the first Instagram Story on the brand’s account on March 14. In the short clip, the Duchess was seen arranging a bouquet while preparing something in her Montecito home kitchen, wearing an elegant white top. Nancy Wilson’s “I Wish You Love” was playing in the background of the video.

An insider previously revealed that Megan has been working overtime to turn her dream project into reality. “She has been working on this for more than a year, and she has been putting a lot of effort into realizing her dream.”
Currently, the brand’s Instagram profile simply features a grid of 9 images to form a large image of the brand’s logo. The name of the brand American Riveria Orchard seems to be a nod to Sanat Barbara, California, where she stays with her husband Prince Harry, and two children, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2. The area around San Franciso is also called “American Riveria” due to its lush green landscapes, and warm climate.
