Maharashtra: Restrictions will be unlocked in five phases from Friday

Maharashtra, which has contained the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic, has made a five-stage plan to remove the restrictions.

Restrictions had started in Maharashtra, India’s most affected state due to Corona infection, since April 5. On 14 April, the state government imposed restrictions like lockdown in Maharashtra by imposing section 144.

Now, these restrictions will be removed in five phases.

These districts will get an exemption in the first phase.

In the first phase, the state government has decided to lift all restrictions in those districts where the positivity rate is less than 5 per cent, and beds are lying vacant in hospitals with more than 75 per cent. Maharashtra government minister Vijay Vedattivar said that restrictions would be lifted from 18 out of 36 districts, including Aurangabad, Bhandara, Dhule, in the first phase from Friday Gadchiroli, Jalgaon, Jalna, Nanded, Nashik, Parbhani and Thane and all activities as before.

Restrictions will continue in Mumbai for now.

Amravati, Mumbai, Hingoli and Nandurbar etc., have been kept in the second phase. This means that some restrictions will continue here. Apart from this, not more than four people will gather together in these four districts. Restaurants, gyms, salons and beauty parlours will be able to function with 50 per cent capacity.

Despite the positivity rate in Mumbai being less than 5 per cent, some restrictions will remain in force till June 15. The operation of local trains will remain closed here.

The Maharashtra government has also decided not to take the board exams of class 10th and 12th. Earlier, the central government has announced the cancellation of the CBSE board examinations.
