After postponing the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021), the BCCI is busy preparing to send the players who came to participate in this league to their home. Australia may have banned people travelling to India these days, but England has not done this for its citizens, and meanwhile, on Wednesday, 8 out of 11 players from England have reached home by chartered flights.
The organizers had to suspend the T20 league on Tuesday after four players from India were infected with the coronavirus. Johnny Bairstow of England, Jos Buttler, Sam Karan, Tom Karan, Sam Billings, Chris Woakes, Moeen Ali and Jason Roy have arrived in London and will be staying at the hotel for ten days in seclusion.
England’s limited-overs format captain Eoin Morgan, David Malan and Chris Jordan are expected to leave India in the next 48 hours. A spokesman for the England and Wales Cricket Board said, “I confirm that 8 of the 11 England cricketers left India last night and reached Heathrow this morning.”
He said, ‘They will stay in the government authorized hotels in the Quarantine. Jordan, Morgan, Malan will leave in the next 48 hours. On the other hand, the Australian players are waiting for the Maldives departure, leaving for home after staying for a few days. Australia has banned flights coming from India till 15 May.
