Munnar: KSRTC has set up tents and campfire facilities to sleep in the beauty of Munnar. The tent facility is set up at the Eucalyptus Estate near the old KSRTC depot in Munnar. A tent for four people can be used for Rs 200 per person. But it has also decided to pay Rs 700 for a total rent of one person.
According to KSRTC MD Biju Prabhakar, the project aims to enable visitors to Munnar to enjoy natural beauty and coolness at low cost. He added that more tents would be made available if the project is successful.
The ‘Sleeping Bus’ project launched by KSRTC earlier with the objective of providing night accommodation to the passengers of Munnar was a success. This was followed by the announcement of a new project called Tent Tourism. The tents will be open to visitors within two weeks, KSRTC said.
