Twitter removed the blue tick from MS Dhoni’s account, know the reason

Twitter removed blue tick from Dhoni's account

Former Indian captain MS Dhoni’s name has suddenly started trending on Twitter. The reason behind this is also related to Twitter itself. In fact, the American micro-blogging site Twitter has removed the blue tick ie verified profile tag from Dhoni’s account. Dhoni’s fans, who have about eight and a half million followers, took notice of this. Let us know why Dhoni’s blue tick was removed.

Several conditions have been placed on Twitter to remove the blue tick of a profile, one of which is related to the activation of the profile. If a profile remains inactive for six or more months, then its blue tick can be removed. Dhoni made his last tweet in January 2021 and thus his profile has been inactive for more than six months.

Dhoni, popularly known as Captain Cool, spends very little time on social media. He is not used to posting too much on Facebook, Twitter or any of the platforms. Dhoni has further reduced his number of posts on social media since 2018. In 2019, he had only seven tweets. On Instagram too, he made the last post in January 2021 itself.
Dhoni is the first and only captain in the world to win all three ICC titles. He is India’s most successful limited-overs captain even after four years of relinquishing the captaincy. He has won 110 ODIs and 41 T20Is. If we talk about his batting, then he is one of the top-5 batsmen to score the most runs for India. He has scored 17,266 runs in 538 matches at an average of 44.96.

The blue tick has also been removed from the account of many big leaders of India. In June, Twitter removed the blue tick from the personal Twitter handle of Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu. Apart from this, Twitter had also removed the blue tick from the accounts of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, Sangh’s former Sarkaryavah Bhaiyyaji Joshi (Suresh Joshi), former Saha Sarkaryavah Suresh Soni and Sarkaryavah Arun Kumar.
