At the time when Ashwini Kumar’s team was attacked, there was a whole team of police station with them. The event takes place around 2 pm Friday-Saturday. According to Purnia’s IG Suresh Prasad, the police station of Kishanganj went to the village to raid a bike theft when a mob attacked them and beat them to death. The West Bengal Police sent the body of the SHO to Islampur Sub-Divisional Hospital in Bengal for postmortem. Prasad said, “The case will be investigated and all the accused will soon be arrested by conducting joint raids with the help of Bengal Police.”

It is being told that Ashwani Kumar also reached the local police station of Bengal in the night. So the station in-charge said to send the ODO with them, on which the ODO told them that they have come from behind. In such a situation, Ashwani Kumar reached the village alone. After this, the villagers beat him to death with sticks, sticks and stones. According to media reports, he was also shot dead. According to a report, criminals surrounded the police and fired bullets in the dark of night. In which Ashwini Kumar also got shot. However, the postmortem report is yet to come.

The Bihar Police Association also agreed in its statement that Ashwani Kumar had sought help from the local police. On which he promised to send a team with Ashwini. He reportedly received no support from the local police of Bengal. And when he reached the village of Uttar Dinajpur, the villagers attacked him with sticks and stones. Due to which he died.

Talking to reporters, Bihar Police Association President Mrityunjay K Singh said that after the incident, the officer’s body was left at the scene. And later he was rushed to the nearest hospital where he succumbed.

Three persons have been taken into custody by the police so far in connection with the murder of a police officer in Panjiara. And it has also come to light that one of the main accused is also involved.

According to sources, Ashwini Kumar was a 94-batch inspector of Janaki Nagar police station area in Purnia district. He was posted at the Kishanganj police station in Bihar only last year. During a meeting on Friday, SP Kumar Ashish had issued a notice to all the station chiefs about the increasing incidents of dacoity in the area and also tasked them to arrest the warrantees.
